What Are Gatherings
More About FLT Gatherings
North Carolina Families Learning Together, Inc is a support network for families homeschooling in North Carolina.

We coordinate volunteer driven gatherings at least twice a year. These gatherings involve renting a summer camp in the off season, which our members use for an extended weekend. We have an opening circle, so we can meet each other, we cook several meals in the camp kitchen and eat together in the dining room. There are member planned activities that everyone is welcome to participate in, or not, as they wish. There are opportunities to sit and chat, time to be with family, time to be with friends. There is a camp fire in the evening, so members can sit and toast marshmallows or simply enjoy the fire, if they wish. Games, puzzles, arts and craft materials are usually available in the lodge at all times.

Gatherings are just a nice relaxing way to get away from the hussle of every day life, meet new homeschoolers from around the state, have fun and enjoy all that the North Carolina Camps have to offer.
Some camps have activities we can take advantage of at our gatherings, like canoeing and archery, some have incredible hiking and biking trails, and the most beautiful scenery.

Volunteers who coordinate these gatherings are FLT members who choose the camps from around the state. The coordinators know what it is like being on a homeschool budget, so they choose with cost and family fun as considerations. Every camp has cabin space available, a few also have tenting space.
Families Learning Together Gatherings are a group effort by members, for members, because we all enjoy this unique experience, and want to see it continue for our children and their children.
